The 2014 Ca’ Marcanda Magari—composed of 50% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 25% Cabernet Franc—closely resembles a wine from Bordeaux’s Pessac-Léognan region. Yet it’s dried leather, earthy notes, and ripe currant notes appear to possess a more Italian accent. Nevertheless, this is an excellent example of why Bolgheri does so well with these grape varieties. Drinks nicely now with a savory stew. |
