Tasting note: Once again there is a plethora of floral elements present on the cool but ripe dark cherry, raspberry and spice scents. The slightly finer middleweight flavors possess both good vibrancy and a subtle minerality on the suave and attractively textured finale. This is a wine of punch and finesse that should repay a decade plus of keeping.

Tasting note: Moderately prominent though not dominant wood is present on the very fresh nose of essence of red berries and earth. The wood can also be found on the middle weight, sleek and nicely detailed flavors that conclude in a bitter cherry pit-inflected finish that demonstrates sneaky good length. Plan on at least a decade of cellaring if you wish to see this robust effort at its peak.

Tasting note: An attractively spicy mix is comprised by notes of lavender, red and blue pinot fruit and freshly turned earth. The middle weight flavors are not particularly dense (though neither are they dilute) but they are refined thanks to the relatively fine-grained tannins shaping the balanced, delicious and lingering if mildly austere finale. This isn’t classic but it’s attractive in its fashion and a wine that should drink well on the earlier side if desired, which is to say after 5 to 6 years.
