Tasting note: Moderate reduction is enough to dominate the fruit today but there is very good freshness and verve to the big-bodied, bold and robust flavors that are blessed with an abundance of dry extract that does a fine job of buffering the very firm tannic spine shaping the strikingly complex and persistent finale. Champonnets is always better in very warm and/or hot vintages and 2018 is a fine example of that.

2017’ BH Score: 89-91 / Tasted: Jan 10, 2019 / Drink: 2027+ / Issue: 73
Tasting note: A toasty nose mixes notes of herbal tea, earth and the sauvage with those of various dark berries. The old vines are in evidence as there is excellent density for the vintage to the tautly muscular and powerful flavors that terminate in a robust and rustic finish. This is never going to be an elegant wine but it doesn’t lack for underlying material and punch.

Jean-Michel GUILLON,出於對葡萄酒的熱愛,1980年在Gevrey-Chambertin 村建立了自己的酒莊 。 在這裡,他師從當地酒農Rene Galland,從一片2.5公頃的葡萄園開始,逐漸發展到今天的13公頃土地。他的熱情和奉獻精神很快得到法國及世界傳媒的尊重和敬佩,他也被任命被為Gevrey-Chambertin 產區葡萄酒釀酒商聯盟主席。目前酒莊由 他與兒子經營管理 。

布根地的前三大新橡木桶買家,分別是 Domaine Romanée-Conti 、 the Hospices de Beaune & Domaine Jean-Michel Guillon。
如果說Gevrey-Chambertin 是以其緊實的單甯和結構而聞名,而Guillon的葡萄酒則更多是因其新鮮多汁的果味和持久深邃的口感而為人所知。

Burghound 『Guillon的酒相當現代化,摩登型態的布根地並仍保留清晰風格和優雅感,並帶有著厚實的黑皮諾口感。』 被認為是布根地『新世界風格』的最佳代表。
Allen Meadows writes: “I would describe his wines as being amongst the best of the “new world” school of Burgundy, which is to say modern Burgundies that retain a clear sense of style and grace.”

2015 BH Score: 90-92 / Tasted: Jan 15, 2017 / Drink: 2023+ / Issue: 65 / ♥ Outstanding
Tasting note: A toasty nose offers up notes of dark currant, earth, game and a hint of forest floor. There is excellent richness to the round, velvety and muscular flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the lingering and firm finish. This needs a few years to develop better depth but the material is good enough that more complexity should develop.

2014 BH Score: 91-94  ♥ Sweet spot  Tasted: Jan 15, 2016   Drink: 2029+  Issue: 61
Tasting note: Moderate amounts of wood and menthol characters frame the spicy and earthy dark berry fruit aromas. There is excellent mid-palate concentration to the velvety and exceptionally rich medium-bodied flavors that coat the mouth on the powerful, stony and impressively persistent finale. This too is textbook though note that it’s going to require at least a decade of bottle edge to shed the very firm tannins.
