這款Syrah紅酒是屬於J. Lohr 酒廠的Estates莊園系列，以自家特定的葡萄園栽植最適合的品種，以生產高品質的葡萄酒。「南嶺(South Ridge)園」位於Paso Robles產區，從其名稱可以得知本園位於面南的山坡，土壤是石灰質黏土和些許砂質，得以生產出風味濃郁的Syrah；在本園因應不同的土壤種植了來自法國和澳洲的無性繁殖系Syrah，還有其他多種紅品種，運用在這款酒中增添豐富複雜的風味。釀造這款酒的葡萄是依每個區塊的狀況，採收於最理想的成熟度。發酵完成的酒搭配使用了美國和法國輕度烘烤的橡木桶(20%新桶)來陳年，時間長達12個月。為了保留酒的風味，裝瓶前沒有經過過濾處理。

2019 Descorchados Rating:94’ Tasted: Jan 2022
For this cabernet, Concha y Toro uses two of its traditional sources of the variety, one in Puente Alto and the other in Pirque, both on the alluvial terraces of the Maipo River, near the foot of the Andes in the Maipo Alto. The nose expresses the classic aromas of that Andean location—the herbal and slightly earthy aromas and the ripe red fruits. The palate is friendly and juicy, and the tannins have enough grip to lend the sensation of a solid structure, firmly planted in the ground. Give this cabernet at least three years to start showing complexity.

Tasting Note:Lots of decadent and ripe fruit with currants and wet earth. Full body, chewy and rich tannins and a round, fresh finish. This structured wine needs some age. Try in 2021. |

2019 Descorchados Rating:92’ Tasted: Jan 2022
For grapes for this Marques Merlot come from the San Clemente zone in the Maule Valley, from vineyards planted on alluvial and clay soils between 1999 and 2005. Half aged in barrels and the other half, in 5,000-liter foudres, it shines with juicy, fruity, and ripe tones. There are also lots of herbs and spices, and the medium body has good tannic intensity and acidity. Think lasagna Bbolognese.

Tasting Note:Freshly-picked blackcurrants, tile, clay, citrus rind, nutmeg and rosemary. Full body, very refined yet also very generous in terms of grainy tannins and darker fruit. Long and chewy on the finish. One of the great values in cabernet. Drink now or hold. |
