Tasting note: A different aromatic profile is present here with its smoky and spicy array of floral, resin and various white orchard fruit scents. On the palate it’s immediately clear that this is a big wine with impressive mid-palate concentration and overt power that continues onto the mouthcoating, gorgeously long and beautifully balanced finish that is very solidly structured. This serious and tautly muscular effort is clearly built-to-age over the longer-term yet it’s not so backward that it couldn’t be approached after 5 to 7 years of cellaring.

Tasting note: Here too there is a plethora of floral elements adding a touch of elegance to the aromas of mostly white orchard fruit, fennel and jasmine tea. There is even better size, weight and power to the big-bodied and overtly muscular flavors that possess outstanding concentration, indeed the mid-palate is almost thick, yet the stunningly persistent finish is vibrant and beautifully balanced. This terrific effort drinks like a scaled down Montrachet and should age like one.
