2020’ Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy Rating:93’, Tasted: Dec 2021
2020’ BH Score: 90-92/Tasted: Jan 10, 2022/Drink: 2028+/Issue: 85
Tasting note: An elegant, pure and airy nose freely expresses the blend of red and dark berries, violet, lavender and rose petal. A touch of earth can be found on the delicious and bright middle weight flavors that exude an appealing minerality on the sappy finish that tightens up noticeably. This understated effort is lovely.
2019’ BH Score: 90-92 /Tasted: Jan 10, 2021/Drink: 2026+/Issue: 81
Tasting note: Firm reduction dominates the fruit at present. The lilting, elegant and wonderfully pure and transparent flavors possess a highly attractive underlying tension as well as a subtle minerality on the refreshing and mildly austere finale. This is clearly very young but it’s so pretty that it could actually be enjoyed young, assuming of course that the nose cleans up before it’s bottled.
2018’ BH Score: 89-92 /Tasted: Jan 10, 2020 /Drink: 2026+ /Issue: 77
Tasting note: A discreet application of wood can be found on the more elegant if perhaps slightly less floral-inflected nose that speaks of tea and spice nuances on the plum and red cherry-scented aromas. There is good richness and volume to the lightly mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that possess moderately firm but fine tannins that contribute to the overall sense of refinement. Lovely.
2017’ BH Score: 88-91/Tasted: Jan 10, 2019/Drink: 2025+/Issue: 73
Tasting note: Reduction. The mouthfeel of the beautifully vibrant, sleek and tautly muscular medium weight flavors is attractively refined which is enhanced by a subtle minerality that arises on the firm, saline-inflected and balanced finale. This is sufficiently concentrated and firm to reward mid-term cellaring.
2014’ BH Score: 90-92 /Tasted: Jan 15, 2016 /Drink: 2022+ /Issue: 61
Tasting note: Once again the mild reduction is enough to render evaluating the nose impossible. I very much like the fine detail of the delicate, fresh and tension-filled middle weight flavors that culminate in a lilting finish that is both detailed and ever-so-slightly austere. As is often the case this elegant effort is distinctly Chambolle-like.
