Tasting note: A discreet application of wood sets off the very spicy, in particular clove and anise, aromas of violet, plum and red currant. The powerful and markedly more concentrated broad-shouldered flavors exude a subtle minerality on the succulent yet very firmly structured finale that exhibits excellent length. While this should age gracefully for years to come it’s not so backward that it couldn’t be enjoyed after 5-ish years. |
