Note: from two parcels of vines, one planted in ’65 and the other in ’38
Tasting note: Like the Petite Chapelle, this is very fresh and bright with impressive purity to the dark pinot fruit trimmed in subtle oak notes that precede the earthy and notably vibrant middle weight flavors supported by fine length and plenty of acidity on the dusty and slightly dry finish. While this is delicious and admirably long, I don’t see this aging over the long term as it risks drying out.
