2011’ Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar Rating:92’
Good dark red. Very shy nose hints at crushed stone, menthol, flowers and licorice. Then surprisingly round and charming in the mouth, with a distinctly silky, open-knit texture to the fat dark berry fruit. Not hugely complex but developing nicely. This should give pleasure early. (ST) (1/2013)

Tasting note: Generous wood and menthol aromas are present on the softly earthy and spicy nose of very ripe plum liqueur and wild dark berries. The fleshy, round and delicious medium eight flavors possess a caressing yet reasonably powerful mouthfeel, all wrapped in a lingering finish that slowly firms up as it sits on the palate. At present, this doesn’t appear to have quite the same excellent depth of material as the best of these grands crus.
