Note: from a 2.2 ha parcel at the bottom section of the vineyard; even so, the vineyard is so steep here that it must be worked entirely by hand as tractors would be dangerous to use
Tasting note: A super-fresh, cool and admirably pure nose exhibits notes of iodine, citrus, white rose petal, sea breeze and mineral reduction scents. Like several wines in the range I very much like the lovely texture of the energetic medium weight flavors that also possess fine concentration before terminating in an intensely saline-infused, balanced and wonderfully long finale.

Tasting Note:Cote Bouguerots is a distinct, late-ripening, sector within Bougros Grand Cru on even steeper slopes (45 degrees in parts) which are a shallow mix of clay and gravel. This plot was identified by Didier Seguier and is a personal favourite of his. Acidity is more pronounced here than in the warmer, more generous Bougros. Flinty, austere yet fine, there is an electric intensity which bodes well for long-term ageing. Still very youthful, this has great length and class on the finish. Oak treatment is similar to Bougros - subtle and adding to texture rather than flavour.

Tasting note: A reserved but ripe nose features white fruit and floral notes that are set off by deft touches of classic Chablis character and wood. There is both good richness and power to the concentrated, vibrant and mineral-driven medium plus weight flavors that also possess ample amounts of dry extract that confer a textured feel to the impressively intense and mouth coating finish. This too is really quite good. |
