Tasting note: Light ruby. An interesting if not overly complex nose of red and black cherry with earth nuances make for a less than dramatic introduction to the round, easy, forward and supple flavors that are also on the light side though the finish tightens up enough to suggest that cellar time is definitely needed. Moreover, the finish offers much better depth than can be found on the nose. In sum, this isn’t a bad wine so much as it’s not very typical by the standards of what one expects from a classic Corton.

Tasting Note:Tightly wound now, this red shows density to its wild berry and cherry flavors, with a streak of mineral and fine length. There’s a latent sweetness that offsets the firm, tensile structure, but this needs time to come together. Best from 2012 through 2022. 500 cases made. — BS
