2016’ Decanter Rating:95’
Sitting outside its Estate Collection, the Artemis represents Stag’s Leap’s effort to capture the regional essence of Napa Valley. Sourced from a total of six sites throughout the valley, more than half of the 2016 fruit was sourced from Atlas Peak and St Helena. Stephen Brook - Intense, lean oaky nose, with pure blackcurrant fruit. Restrained attack, very polished, sleek and lifted, understated but stylish with quite good acidity and ample persistence. Fully ripe but no excesses. Long. James Doidge - Dark colour, intense aromas of Morello cherry and cassis, rich, ripe and concentrated on the palate, a touch savoury on the finish with balanced, sandy-textured tannin. Ronan Sayburn MS - Sweet nose, ripe and creamy, heavy oak, soft palate, vanilla and cream finish. Drinking Window 2020 - 2035 |
